CONTRAINDICATIONS

PMU cannot be performed if the client:

  • Chemotherapy and radiation therapy - Client must be cleared by physician and has to be 6 months out from end of treatment prior to service

  • Pregnancy and lactation - 3 months after completion and stabilization of hormone levels

  • Botox/fillers or application of AHA to forehead - must wait 1 month post treatment before service

  • Laser skin treatment - must wait 1 month post treatment before service

  • Laser removal of old PMU - must wait 6 months post last treatment before service

  • Poor health, illness, vaccinations - must allow 10 days after end of treatment 

  • Use of Antibiotics - must wait 1 week after antibiotic dose is finished

  • Eye inflammation, epilepsy, hepatitis A/B/C pacemaker

  • History of keloid scars in the facial area or tendency to form them

  • HIV or infection disease

  • Skin anomalies - moles, oedema, melanoma etc

  • Endocrinological diseases or hormonal problems (severe diabetes or thyroid problems)

PMU is not recommended:

  • Fresh tan (allow 2 weeks before procedure)

  • Menstruation - will increase sensitivity of the client to pain and bleeding during session

  • Chemical treatment of the face - must wait 1 week after

  • Eyebrow tinting - must allow 2 weeks after tinting

  • Extremely oily skin - realistically last maximum of 6 months

  • Use of analgesics containing salicylic acid (Aspirin, anopyrin, aclypyrin etc) - must wait a week after use

  • Active herpes.  If a client has history, must be on antivirals prior and before tattooing and used as prescribed by a physician.

Medical History must be cleared by physician if client has:

  • Haemophilia, possibly taking blood thinners

  • Diabetes, extremely high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems

  • Allergies to metals, lidocaine, mesocaine, latex benzocaine, tetracaine, wax, aloe vera

  • Immune disorders, reduced immunity, autoimmune diseases

  • Dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, seborrhoeic diseases

  • Widespread acne. If client was on Accutane, must be off for 1 year prior to tattooing

PRECARE

AVOID 2 MONTHS PRIOR:

  • Botox/fillers near brow area

  • Brow dye/tint

  • Any cosmetic enhancements and surgeries near brow area (must have clearance from MD and be fully healed)

AVOID 4 WEEKS PRIOR:

  • Threading, tweezing, waxing. I prefer to work with your natural hair growth as much as possible.

  • Any skin care or facials that includes use of retinol and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) products, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, harsh facials and skin treatments

  • For LIPS, avoid fillers for 4 weeks prior and 4 weeks after the session

AT 1 WEEK:

  • Exfoliate area (BROWS/LIPS) to help prep the skin for easier ink implantation and moisturize daily

  • For EYELINER, please take a break from all lash growth solutions as Latisse near and around your eyes area at least 2 weeks prior to your session and 2 weeks after for best healed result and

    • avoid lash extensions and strip lashes

  • For LIPS, please take your antiviral as prescribed if you have a history or a prone to cold sores.

AVOID 3 DAYS PRIOR:

  • Sweating or workouts 24 hrs prior to procedure

  • No blood thinning agents such as heparin or warfarin (please be cleared by your physician), alcohol, caffeine, tea, energy drinks, soda, boba, ibuprofen, advil or NSAIDS

  • Please adequately hydrate yourself as much as possible to help prep the skin for easier ink implantation
