LIP CARE ROUTINE
DAY OF PROCEDURE
COLOR WILL APPEAR BOLD AND VIBRANT. BY 8 HRS POST PROCEDURE:
With clean hands, use cool bottled water to dampen a cotton pad and gently wipe the lips.
Gently dry your lips with a paper towel or air dry. Do not use a body towel as they carry bacteria.
Apply a sheer layer of the balm to your lips—a rice grain amount of the balm should be sufficient. Your lips should feel hydrated, not overly moisturized.
Repeat care instructions over the next 2 weeks, twice a day, or as needed.
The aftercare supplies provided in the kit are enough to last through the initial and touch up sessions. An additional $15 will be charged if a new kit is needed.
DURING THE HEALING PROCESS
DAY 1-3: Lips will appear darker, bolder, and slightly uneven. The pigment is sitting on top of the lip skin and is nicely visible. Over the next few days
the pigment will stand out more
richer in color
skin is dry
DAY 3-7: Lips will start to scab in small segments, peel off, and feel itchy and dry
DAY 7-30: Lips will appear lighter, almost to the point of disappearing. This is called the ghosting phase and is more pronounced in dark lip neutralization cases.
DAY 30+: The color will slowly resurface and settle to its true appearance. It will be more vivid than the previous days and should appear natural. Most parts of the lips are nicely healed, but can be patchy up until 40 days. This can be fixed at the touch up.
For dark lips: melanin cases may have between 3-5 sessions before truly seeing the shift in color and will be booking 10-12 weeks apart.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
Do not touch, pick, or scratch the lips. Prematurely picking at the scabs may potentially pull the pigment out of the skin.
Do not apply make up or products onto the lips to avoid infection. When they are fully healed, you may resume daily regimen.
Keep the lips area dry- no sweating or swimming for 10-14 days.
Avoid direct sun exposure (wear a hat). Once fully healed, wear 30 SPF sunscreen.
Avoid sleeping on your face and change your current pillowcase for a clean one. This will help to avoid premature flaking which could cause loss of pigment.
Avoid flossing until scabbing is completed. You may continue to brush your teeth as normal after the procedure.
Avoid spicy, oily foods for 48 hrs.
Avoid any friction or kissing on the lips for 1 week.
